Little Lion Studio

Rachel Evans is an artist printmaker and life model based in Manchester, UK. Working from her personal studio at 1520 Studios, and at Hot Bed Press she produces work with both relief and intaglio methods.

 She also facilitates printmaking, life drawing and painting workshops regularly in Manchester.  

 “The physicality, unpredictability and freedom to explore are what makes printmaking such a joyful experience for me. I continue to experiment with different techniques, colours , textures and interactions with other processes to produce  bold and vibrant work  based on subjects that are emotive to me. There’s always a new revelation that comes with completing each print, with things that may initially have been interpreted as mistakes then becoming favourite little victories.”

 As a dancer for 18 years, Rachel also uses this experience to inform her life modelling practice, having modelled regularly for colleges, universities, as well as many groups in Greater Manchester, Manchester Art Gallery and as a muse to various international artists.

Little Lion Studio is many things, but there is just Rachel at it’s heart, providing a safe and encouraging space for people to come and feel comfortable creating, exploring, experimenting, talking, thinking, feeling…..
